About Us

A foundation built through
displacement and resolve

Tejan Women's Institution was founded in 2019 in Nyala, South Darfur — a platform for women's economic empowerment through skills training, wellness services, and entrepreneurship support.

After conflict forced relocation in 2023, the team rebuilt operations in Kampala, Uganda — continuing the mission and extending it to serve the Sudanese diaspora and local communities. Tejan is now registered in Uganda and operating across three interconnected sectors.

Leadership
Dr. Einas Haroun Mohamed — Founder & CEO — has led Tejan from its origins in Sudan through relocation and rebuilding in Uganda. She combines deep community trust with professional programme leadership and serves as the primary point of contact for all institutional partnerships.

Our Work

Three sectors, one mission

Each sector addresses a distinct dimension of resilience — working together to build communities that can sustain themselves.

01
Sector One
Tejan Women Institute

Skills training, entrepreneurship support, beauty and wellness services, psychosocial safe spaces, and women's economic empowerment programmes for refugee and displaced women in Kampala.

02
Sector Two
Tejan Agricultural Development

Food security, smallholder farmer training, women's agricultural cooperatives, and market linkages for displaced and rural communities rebuilding sustainable livelihoods.

03
Sector Three
Youth & Community Development

Youth leadership, civic engagement, social cohesion, anti-hate speech, and cultural identity programmes bridging Sudanese diaspora and Ugandan communities.

We don't just provide services — we build platforms for women to reclaim their independence and transform their communities.
