Psychosocial Support and Economic Empowerment Day for Sudanese Refugee Women in Uganda is a monthly initiative organized by Tejan Women Institution at its premises in Kampala. The initiative aims to support Sudanese refugee women through psychosocial support, economic empowerment, and community engagement activities. Several of these events have been organized independently by the Institution as well as in partnership with supporting organizations, including World Trust Humanitarian Organization, Nidaa Organization – Kampala Office, and other community-based organizations.

Each event benefits between 40 and 50 Sudanese refugee women and includes psychosocial support sessions, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment awareness, discussions on hate speech and bullying, social networking activities, as well as cultural and recreational programs that strengthen identity and belonging. The initiative has contributed to improving participants’ mental well-being and social welfare, enhancing their life and professional skills, increasing opportunities for self-reliance, and expanding support networks and solidarity among refugee women in Uganda.
