Tejan Women Institution, in collaboration with Defend Defenders, organized a Digital Safety and Cybersecurity Training Workshop on 27 September 2025 at the Tejan Venue, Kanjokya Street, Kampala, Uganda.
The workshop was attended by 20 young Sudanese refugee women, and 20 evaluation forms were collected. The training aimed to enhance participants’ awareness and skills in digital safety, data protection, and cybersecurity.
Key topics included cyber threats and phishing, device and data security, secure password creation, data backup, mobile application permissions, and safe online communication. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ahmed Adil Mohammed, a senior cybersecurity expert. Participant feedback showed a high level of satisfaction, with 100% of participants expressing their intention to apply the knowledge gained in their daily digital lives. Participants also recommended organizing advanced follow-up trainings and expanding the program to reach more refugee women.
